Spring has Arrived in Florida

Yes, spring is here! Every morning the birds are singing so sweetly. I open the doors so that I can hear them.

I have had this bird cage for quite some time and I was inspired to create a project using the Pion Paper "Song Bird', beautiful and elegant paper. I painted the bird cage with Prima Steam Punk acrylic paint then to soften the look I used Prima's new was Vintage Silk. Inside the birdcage I used an older Prima resin frame which I painted with the new Sparks Paint Unicorn's Hair. To bring out the detail in the frame I used Artisan Powder Parthenay then rubbed a little Vintage Silk Waxed, lastly I added pearls.

The background of the cage was covered Pion "Song Bird Paper". I fussy cut the bird from the paper, added some flowers and used a Cheery Lynn flourish die cut. The floor of the cage was covered with dried moss and the bird nest was added.

On the outside of the cage was embellished with flowers, moss, ribbon, butterflies and feathers.

Here is a closer look inside the cage.

Thanks for stopping by!
